Most camping in the White Mountain National Forest is based on a personal fee system, meaning that you pay for the campsite at a personal pay station without actually seeing anyone. Some of the campgrounds do accept reservations through ReserveUSA.com.

When you're ready to camp, go to the campground you want and chose the sight that you like. If there's a sign in front of the site with a name on it, that means the site is reserved. If the reserved dates fall during the time you'll be using the site, find another one. If you'll be off the site by the time the reservation starts, you're all set and can stay there.

Place something on the site, such as a clothing bag, a chair but not food. Then go to the fee based station at the main entrace, fill out the envelope & drop it in the locking tube. Keep your copy of the receipt, and head back to the site to begin your vacation.

For the campgrounds that accept reservations, you can either reserve online at ReserveUSA.com or by calling them toll free at 1-877-444-6777.
